Visovac is a small island in the broader part of the Krka Canyon, about 6 km upstream of Skradin. The island was settled by Augustian monks who in the 14th century established a small monastery and church dedicated to the Apostle Paul. In 1445 zthe Augustian monastery was enlarged and adapte by the Franciscans. Today, the Visovac Monastery is a Roman Catholic monastery.
