This topic is dedicated to the interesting bits and pieces about Croatia. So, if you have any questions, or you find some interesting detail -shoot away! :D
I´ll start:
DID YOU KNOW... that the Dalmatian dog received his name from Dalmatia and the Illyrian tribe Dalmata. In the Franciscan monastery in Zaostrogo there is a painting of the “Last supper” by an unknown author from the 18th century, in which along side Jesus and the Apostles is also a dog – a Dalmatian!

...that the Wwhite House in Washington DC was made from stone from Croatia? And the Parliament in Vienna and parts of Parliament in Budapest?
The stone is from a place called Pučišće that is on the island of Brač, and is of very high value.

...that on the island Cres there are no poisinous snakes on the island Cres? That wouldn´t that interesting if it weren´t for the legend that explains that this is so thanks to St. Gaudentius, protector saint of the island of Cres.
