UÄka nature park occupies an area of 160 km2, including the UÄka mountain massif itself and an adjacent part of Ćićarija mountain. Its highest peaks are Vojak (1401 m) and Planik (1272 m).
Its location at the boundary of Istria and the Kvarner Bay, closeness to the sea and distinctive vegetation features make the mountains of UÄka and Ćićarija extremely interesting. Twenty-seven mammal species have been recorded, but it is most likely that their number is higher. In addition, the area is known as the nesting place of the golden eagle, and griffon vulture can also be seen. UÄka is also the enclave for a relic HorvathÅ› lizard.
The park is also known for its geological varieties: numerous cliffs and rocks, mountain spurs, fossils, caves, pits,... If visiting be sure to see the Vela Draga Canyon, the Bloody Rock, and the Rock under Brest.
