So, what to do in Lovran, besides sightseeing and relaxing? any possibility for an active vacation in sight?

Numerous! Lovran has a sailing club, you can dive (after taking diving lessons, of course  ), and there are wellness and spa resorts, but i'm not sure whether that fits into your idea of an active vacation.

yes, you can. it is great fun, and a healthy activity since you spend time outdoor
also, lovran is known for its chesnuts, called maruni (marrons), and there is a festival of chesnuts called marronfest.
it actually takes place very soon, from October 13 to October 28.
in addition to cultural programme (traditional music and dance ensemles, amusement programmes and dancing), there is gastronomical offer you can´t resist: original marron cakes and desserts, roast marrons, medica,...
If you are passing by, do pay it a visit!

I would recommend, when you visit the region of lovran, opatija ... not to forget to visit KASTAV!!!! It is a smal old town!!! You have a lot to see in Kastav - old buildings, churches....In 2 weeks (6.-8.10.) take some time and visit "Bela Nedeja"-traditional celebration..... It is worth seeing!!!!!
