Slowly but surely the construction of a replica of a Dubrovnik galleon, once the largest and most impressive ship of the fleet of the Dubrovnik Republic, is finally drawing to a close.
This unusual vessel, which is being built for a Dubrovnik travel agency, is 27 metres in length and 7, 5 metres wide. Other than the sails which “power“ the ship, the galleon also has at its disposal two ship motors which will be able to carry up to 200 passengers on one day trips.

It is expected that the galleon will be finished by the beginning of May this year when it will begin one day excursion tours from Dubrovnik to the islands and attractive locations.
The entire ship is constructed from the highest quality wood – domestic oak and pine and it is expected that the boat, with maintenance of course, will be able to sail for the next hundred years.

In this way guests of Dubrovnik will be able to enjoy in the galleon which represents a typical though small picture of the once small but powerful Dubrovnik Republic.
