In the region of the northern Adriatic cities Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski, the construction and landscaping of 160 km of walking path – a pedestrian tourist path which will connect the coast and mountainous part of this region, will begin soon.
The paths were envisaged in such a manner that they can be traversed by walking, by bicycle, public transport and small vehicles and to ensure their accessibility to all those interested, the paths will have may access paths which will lead to all tourist locations.
The construction project foresees that the starting points of the paths will be in front of local tourist boards, while access points will be at all important intersections and bus stops.
One complete whole, called the marine pulse, will be represented by paths which will connect the coastal part – from the locality Jadranovo to Plovila, with the mountain areas which extend from the region of Drvenik to Ledenica. Therefore in close vicinity to the City of Novi Vinodolski. This part of the path will be about 80 km long and connected to it will be access paths from every location on the coast and smaller localities in the Vinodol valley. In this way the paths will be divided into five smaller paths and everyone will be able to choose a path to suit their physical fitness and wishes.
The other complete whole will be the paths in the mountain region which will connect the most beautiful areas and mountain belvederes in the forest areas. Access paths from all surrounding areas will also connect to the path.
The paths will be conceived so that on one side they will offer a view of the coast and islands while on the other, a view of the valley and the mountain hinterland. As the paths will pass along some old castle ruins and chapels, hikers will be able to become better acquainted with the cultural heritage of this region.
The whole project, which should be finished by the end of this year, was developed so that with the varying in climate, vegetation, fauna, way of life and culture, every walker may discover something new and unknown, while at the same time get better acquainted with the area in which they are staying.
Namely, the initial project will also be supplemented by the construction of new coastal paths from the locality Jadranovo to Novi Vinodolski which in turn will be connected to the path marine pulse and in this way will create a complete whole for every settlement along the coast.
