How do I get down from Zagreb to Rijeka (Omsalji more precisely)? I know I need to take the airport transfer bus to Zagreb central bus station and then board a coach to Rijeka...is it possible just to turn up or do I need to prebook? Also does anyone know how far Omsalji is from Rijeka bus station?

You can buy tickets at the Coach station at Zagreb although there is only one place to buy tickets and there was quite a long queue when we did it last year. Bus journey is about 2 1/2 hours to Rijeka.

Omisalj is on the Island of Krk near Rijeka airport which is a good 20km from Rijeka. I am sure there must be a bus but if not you would be able get a taxi. Nice old town at Omisalj, shame about the refinary across the bay.

There are buses from Rijeka Bus Terminal to Omisalj.
