Split
Split Riviera includes the city Split, the seaside resorts, Podstrana and Solin which was the old Roman town Salona. This region is historically important and one of the most fascinating Croatian thousand years old city.
Split is the city and a port in the Central Dalmatia. It is situated on a peninsula between the eastern part of the Gulf Kastela and the Split Channel. It's a city with a 1700-year old tradition, a variety of archaeological, historical and cultural monuments, among the most famous is Diocletian Palace, inscribed into the UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Split is the major sport center within many famous and popular sport clubs and competitors. There are also many sport facilities for recreational purposes. Besides, worth visiting is Marjan Forest Park, the green oasis where the Split citizens are proud for generations, carefully maintaining and cherishing it. The park has promenades, vista points, solariums, nature paths, playgrounds and zoo.

There are many hidden and public beaches within the city and its surrounding, besides the most popular of them is Bacvice, a sandy beach settled in the very heart of the town. Split has four marinas, while the Split City Port is in the centrer of the town and is used only for passengers and ferry traffic. Ship connections are established, except with the islands, with Pula, Venice, Dubrovnik and Greece. The Split airport is situated in Resnik (Kastela).
