Pula

Once as a Roman city, now days Pula is well known for its Roman monuments, mostly the Arena Amphitheater. It was an Episcopal seat in 425 and bears sights from some early foundations of religious buildings, as well as other interesting churches, like the churches of St Francis, St Mary Formosa, a beautiful cathedral from 10th Century and the Church of St Nicolas. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Istria as well as the Twin gate, dating from the 2nd and 3rd Century and the Herculaes Gate. The Castle and Historical Museum of Istria is also worth a visit.
Pula is the most important economic city on the Istrian Peninsula and has some nice places where you can spend your time like the following restaurants, bars and clubs: Bounty Pub, Café Galerija, Cvajner, Dva Ferala, Jupiter, Pompei, Scaletta and UljaniPula offers various sport facilities, like sailing and surfing, and there are bike rentals available throughout the day and season.
